Volvo Cars kick starts 2021 Autostyle Design Digital Edition Series 2

Robin Page, Senior Vice President Design at Volvo Cars opened the 2021 Autostyle Design Digital Edition workshops, with an interesting insight to the creation of the all new Volvo Concept Recharge car. The on-line event, now in its second year, and hosted by Berman S.p.A., the Italian automotive parts manufacturer, is a prelude the annual Autostyle Car Design Competition, now in its 18th year. Berman President Roberto Artioli in introducing Robin, complimented the great work he and his design team have developed over the years and mentioned that he has supported and contributed to the Autostyle program since 2013.


Reincarnation of Ford Bronco explained at 2021 Autostyle Design Digital Edition Part II

Paul Wraith, Ford Bronco Chief Designer recently shared the secrets of the development process during the creation of an ultra-Sports Utility car bearing the legendary badge from the 1960s. Viewers on the 2021 Autostyle Design Digital Edition Part II, shared the inside story on the reincarnation of an American legend, the 21st century Ford Bronco. He explained that it was an exciting and fulfilling project to recreate a vehicle that held such popularity and esteem back in the day. For the new model, Paul and his design team in Detroit, Michigan and with colleagues in Australia kept a mirror view on past models, transferring some styling traits into the modern era.


Birth of the new Toyota Aygo X delivered at Autostyle Digital Edition + Design 2021

Getting an insight to the ongoing happenings at Toyota’s European Design Centre (ED2) in Southern France has now become tradition each year at the Autostyle Car Design Competition Workshop events, organized by Berman S.p.A. Heretofore, details on the new Toyota RAV4 (2018) and Lexus UX (2019) were presented at the Villa Di Bagno at Porto Mantovano, Mantova, Italy. Last year, due to the pandemic restrictions, the representation from the leading car design centers had to take a virtual platform, and on this occasion details of the new Yaris Cross were revealed.


Lamborghini participates once again at the 2021 Autostyle Digital Edition + Design series

For the 10th year in succession, Automobili Lamborghini has participated in the Autostyle Design Competition, promoted by Berman S.p.A since 2004. On this 2021 Autostyle Digital Edition + Design, Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini shared design details of the new Huracán STO and the new Countach LPI 800-4 from its Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese, in Northern Italy.


New Ferrari 812 Competizione special series sports car featured at the Autostyle Digital Edition + Design

Before Flavio Manzoni delivered his latest presentation to the Autostyle Digital Edition + Design online workshop, the Chief Design Officer at Ferrari since 2021 gave viewers a unique description of the various departments within the multi-story, multi-million euro Design & Styling Centre at the company’s headquarters at Maranello, in Northern Italy. Located here on the various floors, under a number of related departments, is where the passion and vision constantly flows to create carefully sculptured art work.


2030 Nissan GTR wins inaugural WACOM Drive the Future Competition at Autostyle Car Design Competition 2021

In line with the times and in a change of its usual format, the 18th annual Autostyle Car Design Competition went fully virtual for 2021, with a Drive the Future Competition, hosted with partners Wacom.  During the Autostyle Digital Editions + Design series of presentations made by leading global automotive and lifestyle brands, young and emerging designers were called to action, not only related to the automotive field, to show their personal vision on how design could help and influence the world of the future.

Autostyle Design Digital Edition DIGITAL ONCE AGAIN

Autostyle, the design event promoted by Roberto Artioli of Berman, has reached edition number 18 and for the second consecutive year has been transformed into a Digital Edition, with weekly videos from 7 October to 9 December 2021, due to the Covid emergency. A formula which, after last year’s positive test, has allowed the event to continue, until 2019 implemented in person in Mantua, now instead meeting designers in their workplaces, often inaccessible to most people. The 2021 edition introduced new themes regarding design in a rapidly changing automotive and technological world. Moderating the workshops was Alessio Tommasetti, Ambassador of Wacom, main partner of Autostyle.
